Simple Country Pleasures…

Sunday morning church services at Piney Grove. With the friends, neighbors and family I grew up with.

The preaching was good…

It started to rain as the service was over and we all lingered in the vestibule and chatted …Some of the children of the children that rode horses with me several years ago were there and amazed I have horses …I told stories to them about their Mom! It was quite a treat!

Okay…I know you all want to hear this:)

Dolly (not present) and I use to ride together quite a lot and she had a little long haired long legged niece (quite the good little rider Lauria…she was about 8 years old … I think at the time.  Anyway we took oe of our Sunday after church real long rough rides.

There are a couple places that are very long difficult rides and not suited to children…So nothing doing but Laura and her little friend going with us. So down every long hill and up every incline…These two kids started screaming. Like a roller coaster ride… At first they were sort of discrete and it was kinda cute. But then as children do if something i okay it gets louder and more of it! So finally they were just rolling having a ball and screaming at the top of their lungs!  Two hours into this we were all starting to think stop it! We started to say something …The children thought we were funny and increased the volume. Well Aunt Dolly told on a couple of occasions she really meant business.  Course they ignored her! Finally she stopped the horse she was on got off went over and grabbed the niece and set her on the ground! Dolly got in her face and told her “You are on my last nerve and I have had enough!” in no uncertain terms she would “get her ” the next time… but there would not be a next  time! We all just died laughing! And had a very quiet peaceful fun ride the rest of the 6 hours!:)

It was so much fun to be able to tell that on Laura!  We all had a good laugh again in including Laura!

We headed home in the cold rain and built a fire in the fire place and sat and read the cold raining afternoon away in quiet peace …till the sun came out and out the door to the field with with all the dogs and a sheep check! ALL is Well!
