Another Snake Story…(tis the season)

My dishwasher has been acting up…It goes to delay and will not finish washing the dishes…Yes looks like a new dish washer is needed…

Anyway I was fixing lunch and decided I would hand wash all the dishes in the dishwasher. I did and Les dried them for me…He was putting up the dishes and asked where some Pyrex dishes went…I said down low in front of him but that I would put them up…So he stepped to the right and I opened the cabinet door…

Ever have that can’t believe what you are seeing moment and can’t speak???  Well my eyes said black and white stripped snake! My Mind said “WHAT?” !!!!! NO!!!! WAY!!!

Les is afraid of snakes! Like hurt himself afraid! I do not like them but I am not afraid… I said “Snake”! Les said” WHAT?! ”   SNAKE!!!!!  He knocked things off the cabinet, tripped over the chairs and got out of the way! FAST!!!

By this time the snake a 40 inch King snake the size of a 50 cent piece had fallen out of the cabinet onto the floor…Les said shut the door and I did. I said get Drover in here! (Not thinking this through) and in came Drover who barked at the snake like what are you doing in here?  So I said get Amarillo! In she came and grabbed the snake and he was done then!  We carried the dead snake out side and the dogs did what they do with snakes:)

I do not normally dispense of King snakes only poisonous snakes…But this one was in my home and from the looks of things had been in my cabinet a while…

Afterwards Les said how did he get in? We cut out a window and added a door…last August…The house is brick veneer and we had not finished the trim around the door or the window…So I am sure the snake had slid in that way and found a hole and his way into my cabinet.

Today Les finished out the trim…Three more windows to do!  And Yes it has high priority now:)

I also planted my herb garden and some flowers today!

Amarillo is acting pregnant!

Sheep are all well…And I have some fine lambs for sale!
