So Very Blessed!

Today Dan, Buddy, Drover, BOO and I worked sheep . All afternoon!   I am tired!

It was cool and then got cold! The wind picked up. Dan had a great lesson!

We penned sheep! Sorted sheep, penned them again, sorted , back sorted. Gate Sorted, Moved the sheep in and out of the field…We did some half and quarter circles…

All this time the puppies were in the arena with part of the flock. Not loose… But where they could see, smell, and take notes!  (Back to the sheep pens tomorrow! with my crew) What a fine way to start the new year!

None of the puppies were afraid! Abilene kept a close eye on them …The puppies showed interest!

I noticed a couple of my ewes look like it might not be long before they have lambs!  So Drover and I sorted them out from the flock and took them to the barn! Now this was done with 5 ewes. They were taken away from the main flock and to the barn. No fences after we left the field! Drover did great! He kept the ewes together and we walked to the barn and he penned them carefully, quietly and efficiently with no stress at all!

Hopefully in a day or two we will have lambs!

As Drover and I walked back to the field I looked across the pond towards Steep Rock Mountain. What a beautiful site the light purples and pinks were painting a beautiful year end photo! The air was crisp, clean and heavenly! A light hint of wood smoke was in the air….The sunset breathtaking…(I did not take any photos till latter…)

I thought about how wonderful and beautiful Jackson Creek is and how blessed I am to be able to live here. To have a wonderful husband and friend, good dogs, sheep, good friends, and family and my Drover…

It was one of the moments that that make you glad you are alive …and able to see, smell and be part of God’s good creation!

Yes Blessed!
