Simple Country Pleasures…Gone to the Puppies!

This afternoon was exceptionally nice.

Temperatures in the low 60’s. No breeze. Sunshine. The birds chattering about the beautiful weather. The sheep bells softly tinkling. The ewes talking to their lambs…

The puppies and I were out on the gator picking up leaves for their pen. The puppies ride on the back of the gator in a crate, and tour the farm. When we arrive at a interesting place I turn the puppies loose so they can explore the new surroundings. Of course all the dogs tag along for the fun. They never know where we will go and they love the adventure as much as the puppies!

The sheep had come into the 40 foot round pen where the new round bale of hay was…I turned the pups loose at the pond and next to the hay bale. We all ended up in the hay bale!

I spent all afternoon in the hay with the puppies and my grown dogs and sheep.

SIX hours in a hay bale with a pile of dogs and puppies! I felt guilty not doing anything but playing with puppies and dogs! But I could not help it!

We had puppy buyers Sam and her family, and Betty and her daughter visit with us! Then Adam came by with my Christmas present! A wonderful special bale of hay for the ewes as they lamb!

The puppies and dogs hung out in the hay playing and watching and moving the sheep. The grown dogs kept a watchful eye over me and the sheep making sure no ewe bothered me. Puppies sunned and slept. Played and nursed and slept some more. It was a great time to observe each puppy.

KAT was my pillow, BOO my knee prop, Drover my watch dog and back warmer, Abilene my protector.

I thought about how wonderful it is to live life this simply. And to be able to spend an afternoon with my dogs, puppies and sheep. How I could have chosen a different path…But I am so pleased with the path I am on. It is where I am suppose to be.

It was a priceless, timeless, perfect afternoon.

Was interested in your puppies. Was wondering if you had any of them still for sale. We live on a small farm in Ohio and we raise goats, have horses and a couple of cows also chickens. Was looking for a companion to help me with my goats and chores.
